Stainless Steel 347H Flat Bars are an austenitic stainless steel grade that’s stabilized with niobium, giving them outstanding resistance to intergranular corrosion and remarkable performance at high temperatures. Typically, their composition includes 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, 0.04–0.10% carbon, along with trace amounts of manganese, silicon, and niobium. These flat bars are known for their high tensile strength, durability, and excellent creep resistance when exposed to elevated temperatures. In terms of mechanical properties, they boast a tensile strength ranging from 515 to 750 MPa, a yield strength of about 205 to 275 MPa, and a hardness of approximately 170 to 200 HB. Their unique combination of high-temperature stability and corrosion resistance makes them perfect for various industrial and engineering applications.

The primary alloying element in Stainless Steel 347H is niobium (Nb), which stabilizes the material against carbide precipitation during welding and high-temperature exposure. This enhances its resistance to intergranular corrosion and improves its overall high-temperature strength.
Stainless Steel 347H is most suitable for applications in the temperature range of 800°C to 1500°F (427°C to 815°C). This range allows it to maintain its strength, corrosion resistance, and stability, particularly in high-temperature environments like furnaces.
Typical dimensions of a Stainless Steel 347H flat bar range from 0.25 inches (6 mm) to 6 inches (150 mm) in thickness and 1 inch (25 mm) to 12 inches (300 mm) in width. Custom sizes are also available.
Stainless Steel 347H Flat Bars find extensive use in situations that demand high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and durability. You’ll often see them in the manufacturing of heat exchangers, furnace components, chemical processing equipment, aerospace parts, and industrial machinery that operates under high temperatures. Their ability to resist intergranular corrosion, along with their excellent mechanical properties, makes them ideal for power plants, petrochemical industries, and high-temperature structural applications.
