Aluminium 2014 Bars and Rods are mainly made up of aluminium (over 90%) and are alloyed with copper (3.9–5%), manganese (0.4–1.2%), magnesium (0.2–0.8%), along with trace amounts of silicon, iron, and zinc. This alloy is celebrated for its high strength and good fatigue resistance, offering excellent machinability but limited corrosion resistance. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of about 483 MPa, yield strength of around 414 MPa, and an elongation of 10–15%. Heat treatment significantly boosts its strength, making Aluminium 2014 an excellent choice for structural applications that need to perform well under stress.

To maintain Aluminium 2014 bars, regularly clean them with mild soap and water to prevent corrosion. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures, and inspect for signs of fatigue or wear.
Aluminium 2014 bars and rods are not ideal for high-temperature applications. While they offer high strength, their performance decreases at elevated temperatures, limiting their suitability for environments above 150°C (302°F).
Aluminium 2014 rods are sized by their diameter, typically ranging from small (e.g., 6 mm) to large (e.g., 100 mm), and are available in various standard or custom lengths.
Aluminium 2014 Bars and Rods are a go-to choice in industries that prioritize strength and durability. You’ll often find them in aerospace applications, like fuselage frames and wing structures, as well as in automotive parts, truck frames, and suspension systems. Thanks to their impressive strength-to-weight ratio, they’re perfect for precision engineering, military hardware, and high-performance gear. In industrial environments, these rods and bars come in handy for tooling, fixtures, and heavy-duty structures. While they might not be the best at resisting corrosion, their outstanding machinability and fatigue strength make them a solid option for critical applications, especially when they’re treated with protective coatings or surface treatments.
